Many modern researchers turn to the issue of pedagogical mastership and competence.The problem of pedagogical mastership remains one of the key ones in modern pedagogy, taking into account the specifics of teaching foreign languages.The role of the teacher in the educational process is quite important, because all the educational concepts and ideas are implemented in the pedagogical action.The purpose of the work is to consider pedagogical mastership as an indicator of professional competence, which reflects the highest level of development of a future teacher in the education field.In our research, we considered and analyzed the interpretation, levels and components of pedagogical mastership.In order to deepen knowledge and improve pedagogical skills, an author's course was created, which is taught to students of the Foreign Languages School.The purpose of teaching the pedagogical mastery course is to provide general theoretical training of bachelors in the field of psychology and pedagogy of a higher school, which will serve as a basis for their practical work related to teaching activities in higher educational institutions.In general, the course is aimed at explaining the basics of the general methodology of teaching foreign languages, which is closely related to the cycle of other theoretical disciplines (psychology, linguistics, didactics, pedagogy), because teaching competence requires not only a high practical level of language training, but also in-depth knowledge of general laws learning foreign languages.At the course, students consider the levels, essence and models of pedagogical mastership, the role of pedagogical communication, professional qualities of a teacher of a higher school and the psychological and didactic foundations of the educational process, etc.
