Progress of High Precision TPC Detection Technology for the Future Circular e+e-Collider

The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) was proposed as a Higgs and high-luminosity Z factory in the Chinese High Energy Physics community, with the Technology Design Report (TDR) released at the end of 2023. The baseline detector design features a high-precision (approximately 100 ${\$}$ \mu m ${\$}$) spatial resolution Time Projection Chamber (TPC) as the main tracking device surrounding a 3.0T solenoid field, even when operated at Tera-Z. The TPC technology requires a longitudinal time resolution of 100 ns, and the physics requirement of PID resolution should be less than 3%. This presentation will discuss the feasibility and status of the high precision TPC as the main track detector for an e+e- collider. The TPC detection aims to achieve good separation power with consideration for cluster counting, and the simulation results of the pad/pixelated TPC technology for the e+e- collider will be presented. Compared with the pad readout using the simulation, the high granularity readout TPC option will achieve better spatial resolution for single electrons, high detection efficiency in excellent tracking, and good PID performance (less than $3 \sigma)$. The results of track reconstruction performance and dE/dx are presented. The presentation will also review the results of track reconstruction performance and summarize the next steps towards TPC construction for CEPC physics and the detector TDR.
