Multi-level analysis of EFT/Burst disturbances

EFT/Burst disturbances are one of the most influential phenomena in sensitive devices. The selection of protection measures against them is determined by its nature. Due to the complexity of these disturbances, it is worth conducting a multilevel analysis, mainly frequency analysis of the disorder under study, before developing suppression methods.This paper’s authors analysed the voltage and current waveforms recorded at the measuring station for the chosen relays and load parameters. The analysis aimed to understand the detailed characteristics of the disturbance under study and is also an introduction to developing the best possible method for selecting coupling elements. Due to assumptions, analysis was done for measured, simulated and ideal (standardised parameters) disturbances. Finally, the authors summarised the results and concluded.
