Augmented reality in education: Transforming learning through technology

Augmented Reality (AR) overlays digital information nto the real world, enriching users' interaction with their physical environment. Unlike Virtual Reality (VR), AR enhances the physical world with interactive content, offering a valuable tool for education by boosting learning and information retention. This study examines AR's application in English language learning, specifically using Unity, a cross-platform game engine, and Vuforia, an AR development platform, to create an interactive educational tool. Traditional methods like lectures and textbooks often fail to engage students, reducing motivation and knowledge retention. AR, through its multisensory approach, captures students' attention and deepens their understanding of concepts. The findings demonstrate AR’s transformative potential in language learning by making it immersive and interactive. This project illustrates how AR technology can overcome challenges in traditional education, providing an innovative way to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
