A New and Efficient Solution to Matrix Equation Generated by the Method of Moments

In this work, we build upon previous solution procedures to solve the matrix equation generated by the well-known method of moments (MOM). The present procedure is developed to save memory and storage space, and to be computationally efficient. The first step involves generating the MOM matrix equation by conventional method. The second step involves gathering the total number of basis functions into a small number of groups thereby casting the moment matrix into a collection of smaller matrices representing self and mutual interactions between the groups. Third, the procedure generates a new matrix using straight-forward mathematical steps where the blocks residing on either side of the diagonal blocks are set to zero. Fourth, the new matrix equation is solved using modified algebraic steps that is memory efficient compared to repeated matrix vector multiplication. Finally, all of the off-diagonal blocks in the modified matrix are replaced by a simple scalar constant to obtain a very efficient MOM procedure.
