Design and Performance of the DSA-2000 Antennas

The DSA-2000 will consist of 2,000 5 m dia telescopes operating in over 0.7 to 2 GHz spread over a 15 km x 19 km area. The instrument is designed to map the whole available sky every three months with high sensitivity and fidelity and produce images with a sensitivity of 1 µJy, even for rich fields with sources as bright at 1 Jy. Producing the images with a real time Radio Camera pipeline places stringent requirements on the array configuration and antennas to avoid false detections and to minimize imaging artifacts.
