Sustainable Practices in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enhancing Organizational Reputation: A Thematic Review

Abstract Purpose The thematic review-based paper attempts to unlock the relationship between sustainable practice (SP) by the supply chain (SC) industry and its impact on enhancing an organization's brand reputation. It further attempts to identify the themes emerging from the existing literature in the mentioned area. Methodology The study was based on a thematic review of the existing literature on the impact of SPs in logistics and supply chain management (SCM) in enhancing organizational reputation. Findings The thematic review uncovered eight different themes on the impact of SPs in logistics and SCM and organizational reputation. The themes were as follows: green supply chain management, sustainable sourcing, SC performance efficiency, energy efficiency, sustainability values of top management, green consumption behavior, supplier's social performance, and environmental management practices. The stated themes had various subthemes that were identified from the reviewed literature. Practical implications The study offers perspectives on the applications of SPs in SC and logistics in enhancing an organization's reputation which can be useful to practitioners. The findings also provide future research directions. Originality/Value The study is an original work and endeavors to identify the themes emerging in the area of sustainable logistics and SCM. It identifies the themes emerging from the existing literature in the area of sustainable SC practices and their impact on organization reputation.
