Study of the aluminium alloy properties for the cable production

The paper presents results of an experimental study of the effect of iron on the aluminum alloy mechanical and physical properties. It illustrates the method of manufacturing an aluminum alloy wire rod by the combined method of continuous casting, rolling and extrusion, as well as the influence of the alloy crystallization in the electromagnetic crystallizer on its structure. The paper considers methods for measuring electrical resistance of the conductive core, resistance of the insulated core to bending, and methods for assessing the alloy corrosion resistance. Results of studying the alloy mechanical and physical properties, including the environmental influence on the aluminum alloy structure and properties, are obtained and analyzed. The heat treatment mode is optimized.
