Temporary works in a marine environment

Abstract As the distance of a project increases from dry land, then the risk and complexity can also increase. A site needs to be established on water using vessels, bunds or temporary platforms and often these can provide limited working space. Additional loading needs to be considered due to wind, currents and waves. Logistics and safety and paramount considerations. This chapter explores some of key temporary works challenges required to deliver these challenging projects.
