A standardized chevron osteotomy for exposure of the distal humerus: a technique description and literature review

The olecranon osteotomy is a widely-utilized technique which reflects the olecranon with the triceps insertion attached to allow for adequate exposure of the distal humerus. The chevron osteotomy aims to minimize the risks of adverse events associated with free handed transverse osteotomies. The goal of this article is to provide the surgical technique for a standardized chevron osteotomy of the olecranon utilizing a novel cutting guide that is referenced on a precontoured proximal ulna fixation plate.
