Testing the international expert recommendations on image capture for reflectance/cutaneous confocal microscopy: An international mixed methods study

International expert recommendations for reflectance confocal microscopy/cutaneous confocal microscopy (RCM/CCM) image acquisition of cutaneous tumors have been published.1 We sought to determine if the use of these recommendations produced images of adequate quality for asynchronous diagnosis and to explore acceptability of the recommendations by clinicians. For each lesion captured using the recommendations, site-readers completed a form measuring quality parameters. Technicians were invited to complete a questionnaire pre- and postuse of the recommendations, based on an acceptability framework.
