80‐1: <i>Invited Paper:</i> Architecture of High‐Resolution Full‐Color Reflective Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Display for Signage Applications

A color‐reflective LCD with high optical performances and cost‐effective structure has been proposed by cholesteric liquid crystal technology. By way of color dithering algorithm and waveform module (WF) in SOC, we demonstrated a 13.3‐inch Ch‐LCD with a high resolution of 202 PPI, high reflectance of 30%, high color gamut of 20%. The front light unit adopted to Ch‐LCD is proposed by optimizing the micro‐air cavity to get the improved contrast ratio and light efficiency utilization which can expand the application scenario of electronic signages.
