Primary care: a crucial catalyst to build a healthier USA

On May 22, 2025, the Presidential Commission to Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) released its first report entitled “Make Our Children Healthy Again”.1 The report documents, among other things, the rise of chronic disease in children and the importance of evaluating the effect of environmental toxins on the health of children. US Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F Kennedy Jr helped to frame the report by stating, “We will end the childhood chronic disease crisis by attacking its root causes head-on—not just managing its symptoms”.
