Latest developments of high-performance optical coatings for current ESA missions

Optical filters and mirrors are crucial elements in optical instruments for earth observation and space exploration. Materion Balzers Optics offers customized solutions to enable sophisticated system designs to achieve scientific goals. In this paper, we present three recent examples of optical coatings applied by Plasma Assisted Reactive Magnetron Sputtering (PARMS) [1]. This includes the UV filter for the ALTIUS mission, the 2 band VNIR filter array of CO2M missions cloud imager (CLIM), and latest results of linear variable filter development.
