The Role of Gamified Learning Platforms in Cybersecurity

Nowadays cybersecurity threats are continuously growing at a large rate. So, traditional training methods are not sufficient for the practical learning which is required for protection from the various cyber-attacks. The use of gamified learning in cybersecurity is the need of an hour. Gamified learning provides an energetic approach for the cybersecurity training by using gamification in education contents. In this chapter, the role of gamified learning platforms in cybersecurity is discussed. It focuses on various important points such as how a learner can be engaged in a better way with the help of gamification, how technical skills can be delivered better with the concept of gamified learning, how retention can be improved, and real feedbacks. It also describes various features such as tracking of performance, customized contents, opening of various learning platforms etc. In this chapter, various limitations of gamified environments are also discussed. This chapter also explores the future of cybersecurity education with gamification.
