Academic Performance and Attitude of Chemistry Learners through Class Point

This study looked into how using Class Point, a digital presentation and engagement tool, could influence the academic performance and attitude of Grade 8 students in Chemistry. Seventy-six students from two classes took part—one group experienced lessons with Class Point, while the other followed traditional teaching methods. To measure outcomes, the researcher used a 60-item test on Chemistry concepts and a 25-item attitude questionnaire adapted from the University of Cambridge. The results showed that students who used Class Point improved significantly in their academic performance, moving from did not meet expectations to fairly satisfactory levels. However, there was no significant change in their attitudes toward Chemistry compared to those who learned without Class Point. These findings suggest that while digital tools like Class Point can help boost student learning and understanding of science concepts, their effect on student attitudes may depend on other factors. The study highlights the value of integrating technology in science classes to enhance academic achievement.
