Performance qualification of the far-ultraviolet detector for the field camera unit on board the Spektr-UF World Space Observatory-Ultraviolet space telescope

The space telescope of the Spektr-UF/World Space Observatory-Ultraviolet mission aims to study the universe in the 115 to 310 nm ultraviolet range. This 1.7 m class multipurpose orbital observatory is provided with instrumentation to perform high- and low-dispersion spectroscopy, high-sensitivity imaging, and slit-less spectroscopy. The imaging instrument, the so-called field camera unit, is composed of two independent channels: the near ultraviolet channel operating between 174 and 305 nm, and the far ultraviolet (FUV) channel, which can perform high-resolution images and slit-less spectroscopy in the 115 to 176 nm spectral range. The FUV channel is equipped with a photon-counting microchannel plate detector. Herein, the results of the optical qualification campaign (e.g., quantum efficiency, photon counting uniformity, or count rate linearity) of the flight detectors for the mission are described.
