School Leaders' Role in Student Environmental Engagement From Gestures to Systemic Action

This study aligns with the Environmental Education for Sustainable Development (EEDD) approach, aiming to promote eco-citizen engagement in school rather than just focusing on individual actions. This would involve putting schools at the service of societal transformation through a culture of engagement. Our aim is to analyze the dimensions of the level of involvement in environmental activities, which varies from simple motivation and implication until the highest level of critical engagement: the empowerment and environmental activism., we attempt to analyze the forms of engagement from which three models of action emerge in the psycho-social field, using the example of involvement and individual engagement and collective engagement.. In addition, we are interested in characterizing the positioning of school directors. In this same framework, we attempt to characterize “the descriptors of critical engagement”, in this case, educational actors or EDD referents.
