IMPACT OF ALTRUISM AMONG THE DIFFERENT GENERATIONS.

The paper researched on “IMPACT OF ALTRUISM AMONG THE DIFFERENT GENERATIONS” is carried out to find the helping tendencies and altruistic behavior of population. Helping behaviors are actions designed to assist another person with a problem or to relieve their distress.This study finds the difference between gender and generations living in different periods. For this study, 140 samples from different generations i.e. Generation X, Millennial generation, Generation Z and Alpha were selected using purposive sampling method.The samples were collected in and around Tamilnadu by online mode. The tools used were Helping Attitude scale (HAS) developed by Gary S.Nickell,Minnesota State University Moorhead.The reliability coefficient of the scale was 0.85 and it is highly valid.The data were collected using SPSS, and the results indicates that the sample living in the generations of 1980s to 1990's have higher level of helping tendencies than others and the results indicates that there is no gender difference on altruism.
