Innovative design of all-steel solutions for all BIPV applications

The use of aluminum is becoming more and more current for photovoltaic domain but to support innovation, building constraints and carbon footprint commitment, this material is probably not the most relevant. For specific needs of building applications steel is a predominant component supported by a very high technical skills and experiences. Based on this information and supported by new manufacturing techniques applied to the photovoltaic domain, steel can provide innovative solutions for new BIPV solutions. This study aims to explore different areas of construction (regulation, standard test, experimentation and digital) to determine the advantages of using steel, and to assess whether it is a viable solution offering a relevant alternative to the current photovoltaic sector. here are the results obtained and those envisaged for the SOLARSTYL project, which will be completed at the end of 2026.This project has received financial support from French Energy Agency, ADEME, as part of the FRANCE 2030 call.
