Research on Prediction Method of Material Removal by Robot Grinding and Polishing on Workpiece Surface Based on Laser Cladding Strengthening

laser cladding technology is the most important way to improve the performance of parts, and the high-precision grinding and polishing of parts after laser cladding is also the focus of the current manufacturing industry. In the robot grinding and polishing process, the depth of material removal is an important index to reflect the polishing and polishing process efficiency. The accurate prediction of the depth of material removal is very important to improve the machining accuracy and efficiency. Four factors (diamond grinding wheel mesh, diamond grinding wheel speed, grinding and polishing positive pressure, robot feed rate) grinding and polishing orthogonal experiments were designed for the workpiece after laser cladding strengthening. The detection instrument was used to collect the material removal depth data and workpiece surface roughness data of the workpiece under different grinding and polishing process parameters, and the influence of each robot grinding and polishing process parameter on the grinding and polishing quality of the workpiece was analyzed by comparing the detection data. Furthermore, the robot grinding and polishing prediction model of component workpiece cladding strengthening material is established, and the accuracy of the model is verified by comparative experiments.
