Analysis of the possibility of extracting valuable components from hydromineral raw materials in the Republic of Moldova based on international experience

This paper focuses on the prospects of extracting valuable components from hydro-mineral resources. This term encompasses both highly mineralized underground waters and associated waters produced during the exploitation of oil and gas fields. The study examines the potential for extracting valuable components from industrial waters based on an analysis of existing literature sources and international experience. Aquifer systems containing economically significant concentrations of lithium, rubidium, caesium, strontium, iodine, bromine, and other elements have been identified. The study determines the minimum techno-economic thresholds for extracting these components and highlights their regional distribution within the Republic of Moldova. Special attention is given to the potential for integrated utilization of associated waters from oil and gas fields, which allows for the recovery of valuable elements while mitigating environmental impacts. The obtained results can be useful in developing technologies for the treatment and utilization of associated waters at operating oil fields. Furthermore, these findings can be applied in the assessment of mineral resource reserves, contributing to improved efficiency in natural resource management and the development of strategies for managing the country's mineral and raw material resources.
