The role of language in social-emotional, educational, and vocational outcomes in autism and in individuals who have lost the diagnosis

Findings suggest unique pathways of influence between language and outcomes in individuals with autism versus LAD and NT peers. This evidence suggests that current language and early language development must be considered in social-emotional functioning and in educational and vocational supports from childhood <i>through</i> adulthood for individuals diagnosed with autism in childhood.
