The Current Trade Status and Future Development of the Game Industry: An Analysis Based on the Heckscher-Ohlin Model

In the process of the global economy accelerating its digital transformation, the game industry, as an important part of the digital economy, has become an emerging force receiving significant attention in international trade. Whether it is traditional console games, PC games, or mobile games that have rapidly emerged in recent years, all have generated enormous economic effects and cultural influence worldwide. Through a literature review, this paper examines the characteristics, influencing factors, and future development trends of international trade in the game industry, and applies the Heckscher-Ohlin (H-O) model to analyze the factor endowments of the game industry, focusing on the rise of mobile games in global trade. Taking Finlands Supercell as a case study, this paper explores how enterprises can leverage their home countrys factor endowment advantages to gain competitiveness in the international market. The research finds that abundant human and technological capital endowments are important cornerstones for driving the global competitiveness of the game industry. Mobile games, with their portability, accessibility, and broad user base, have rapidly come to dominate the global market.
