Aspects of Solar Power Plants Operation During Grid Faults

The forecasted installed capacity of grid-connected solar power plants (SPP) and wind power plants (WPP) worldwide by the end of 2025 is 1547 GW and 1265 GW, respectively [1] . In Russia, as of July 2025, the installed capacity of SPPs and WPPs is 2.0819 GW and 2.455 GW, respectively [21] . As the total installed capacity of SPPs and WPPs increases, their impact on the grid also grows. In order to converter direct current to alternating current in SPPs and WPPs converters are used (hereinafter, where applicable, referred to as Inverter). It has been observed that transient processes in grids with a large number of inverter-based resources behave differently from grids that contain only conventional generators [2] .
