Some studies incorporated advanced rehabilitation methods such as blood flow restriction therapy, which appeared to accelerate recovery as measured by DEXA outcomes. Future studies should explore integrating DEXA findings into athlete-specific rehabilitation protocols with validated thresholds for return to play.
