An Algorithm for Determining and Reducing Durations During the Management and Reconfiguration of High-Availability Distributed Systems in NGN, Full IP, Edge Computing, Cloud Computing and AI Infrastructures

In this paper, we address the problem of very long execution durations during the management activities in NGN, Full IP, IoT, Edge Computing and Cloud Computing as well as AI (Artificial Intelligent) infrastructures. This problem is a major challenge in the NGNM (Next Generation Networks Management) field. It is an optimization problem in the strong sense with resource constraints in the context of real-time reconfiguration systems. It is also related to the operability of distributed highavailability systems used in NGN communications networks (full IPv4, full IPv6, MPLS/IMS, VoIP/IPTV, FTTx/PON, Virtualization, Cloud Computing, Green Computing, 3G/4G/5G/6G, Edge Computing, WSN, VR/AR, and IoT) as well as AI (Artificial Intelligent) infrastructures. The resolution of such problems requires a significant and simultaneous reduction of several performance temporal criteria. The reduction of the execution durations allows optimizing performances of networks resources. From a practical point of view, the reduction of network resources consumption automatically decreases the overall energy consumption in the network. We propose thus an algorithm capable of determining and decreasing in real time the execution durations. This algorithm is based on minimal temporal criteria, lower and upper bounds, dominance rules, a branching scheme and an exploration strategy. Our experiments show that the results of the proposed algorithm are more efficient than those of the existing reference algorithms.
