Demonstration of Low-Complexity Triple-Rate Coherent PON Achieving Up to 200 Gbit/S Symmetric Data Rates

We experimentally demonstrate coherent transmission at 100, 150, and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$200 \text{Gbit} / \mathrm{s}$</tex> in continuous and burst-mode operation. Subset modulation of DP-QPSK enables power-efficient signal generation while enabling to use the same receiver digital signal processing chain. We achieve link budgets from 35 to 38.6 dB.
