Navigating Bias on Medical Cannabis

Cannabis has long been associated with recreational drug use, countercultural movements, criminal activity, and stigma. Conversely, growing evidence supports that medical cannabis can help with management of chronic pain and treatment-related symptoms. As medical cannabis becomes more widely accepted in healthcare, Christian nurses must navigate tensions between personal values and beliefs, biblical perspectives, cultural norms, laws, and institutional policies about cannabis as they offer holistic compassionate care for patients who use medical cannabis.
