Modeling of Electric Trains for Power Systems Dynamic Analysis

Electrical Rail Systems are special loads interconnected to Power Systems [1]. These loads are highly variable due to the traction requirements of the transportation system and have single phase power nature which introduces imbalances within the power system. This makes modeling and analysis challenging to determine their impact on the power system and the additional infrastructure required for their smooth operation. This paper details the basic modeling of these systems using EMTP-RV.
