Editor's Note on Perioperative Optimization of Frail Older Adults Undergoing Elective Colorectal Surgery

The main thing I appreciated from this manuscript was the interdisciplinary preoperative assessment and care provided to frail older adults who were anticipating elective colorectal surgery. The Perioperative Optimization of Senior Health (POSH) goal-concordant care processes were consistent with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) program. The ACS GSV program is tailored to address the five domains included in the measure to help hospitals comply with the CMS Age-Friendly Hospital Measure.
