The Need for Community College Dual Credit Professional Development Courses: Findings From a Qualitative Study

ABSTRACT Professional development, specifically for high school and college instructors teaching dual enrollment, is virtually non‐existent. The purpose of this study was to explore the perspectives of instructors teaching dual enrollment in the high school and college environment on what type of professional development is needed. Based on interviews with high school and community college instructors, collaboration, technology training, and pedagogical methods were identified as essential elements of professional development to help educators teaching dual credit courses.
