Demonstration of QRcode as traceability sipID in the advanced packaging process and the transparent substrates supply chains

The traceability is a critical topic for the modern and global complicated semiconductor supply-chains. Comparing to many as-is chipID methods (OTP, fuse, etc); however, the sip-ID is not much addressed in the emerging advanced packaging supply-chains scenario. In this study, the working flow feasibility and the and the sip-ID IP characterization are demonstrated with semiconductor processing and with the transparent substrates. The QRcode Mcells (macro-cells) are automatically generated via decent CAD flow automation. We can create different QRcode series per substrate and the combined-patterns, for good potential in maskless, single/double exposure, sip-process scale (either silicon wafer or transparent substrate), as the "sip-ID" for the supply-chain traceability and management.
