Practical Aspects of Field Monitoring of Corrosion

Abstract This paper reviews the practical aspects of field monitoring of the performance of corrosion inhibitors in main oil lines and trunk lines in both offshore and onshore locations. The monitoring techniques and parameters are various and include corrosion inhibitor residuals, iron counts, weight loss coupons and novel high-resolution ER probes. The inter-play between these various monitoring parameters and their comparative relevance to the performance of the corrosion inhibitors is presented in this paper.
