The complete chloroplast genome and phylogenetic analysis of <i>Astragalus khasianus</i> Benth. ex Bunge 1868 (Fabaceae)

Astragalus khasianus Bunge, Mém. Acad. Imp. 1868, a perennial herb, belongs to Fabaceae. In this study, the chloroplast genome of A. khasianus was sequenced and analyzed, and a phylogenetic tree was constructed to determine its phylogenetic relationship with other related species. The results showed that the total length of the chloroplast genome of A. khasianus was 124,225 bp, with a GC content of 34.01% and a missing of IR region. Annotation of the chloroplast genome yielded 110 genes, including 76 unique protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that A. khasianus was close to A. tumbatsica. Our findings provide a valuable resource for further genetics and evolution study of A. khasianus and Astragalus.
