GECCS: Graphene-Enhanced Cellulose Composite Circuit Substrate – A Fully Biodegradable, Flexible Alternative to FR-4 and Rogers PCBs

The Graphene-Enhanced Cellulose Composite Circuit Substrate (GECCS) is a novel, fully biodegradable alternative to conventional PCBs using cellulose nanofibers infused with graphene and conductive PEDOT:PSS traces. It achieves thermal conductivity of 2000–5000 W/m·K, dielectric constant ~2.5, bend radius <5 mm, and complete biodegradability while remaining low-cost and scalable. This preprint details design, fabrication, performance, and a DIY protocol.
