Evaluation at Land north of Thurnscoe

Archaeologically controlled excavation of eight 50m x 2m Trial Trenches. All work carried out in line with approved Written Scheme of Investigation A total of eight trenches, were excavated within the site boundary revealing a singular feature of a modern drain; first noted on the OS Mapping of 1966, it had been infilled and ploughed through since. Several stone filled drains were also observed to the south east of the site, no further features or finds were encountered.
