Land north of White Cottage, Harland Way, Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire. Arcaheological Evaluation by Trial Trenching

The approved scheme of works specified six 30m by 2m trenches, targeting the potential archaeological features located by the geophysical survey. These were excavated, with topsoil and overburden removed using a JCB 3CX Digger with a bladed diking bucket, down to either naturally formed deposits . Six 30m by 2m trenches were proposed within the development area. The trenching was located over possible geophysical anomalies; however, no features of archaeological significance were observed throughout the work.
