Leveraging the Metaverse for Sustainable Higher Education: Exploring AI-Driven Virtual Learning Environment and Enhanced Educational Access

Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) and immersive virtual learning environments (VLEs) are being combined in the metaverse to make over higher education and increase availability and sustainability. This study explores the ways in which AI-powered metaverse platforms can simultaneously increase admittance to learning opportunities globally and lessen the environmental impact of conventional educational informative establishments. Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are two innovative technologies that can help educational society drastically, resource consumption, and physical campuses. AI-powered personalized learning also improves educational engagement, accommodates a range of educational requirements, and encourages group assignments and interaction. This study discovers the long-term viability of metaverse-based education-learning, difficulties in integrating it, and the role of AI in optimizing virtual classrooms. The results enlightened the metaverse’s capacity to build fair, inclusive, and sustainable learning environments, which is influencing education that prioritizes digital technology.
