Strategic Plan for the Control of Free-Roaming Wildlife Occurrence and the Mitigation of Associated Crisis Situations in Urban and Municipal Areas

This comprehensive research report presents a strategic framework for managing the occurrence of free-roaming wildlife in urban and municipal environments and for mitigating associated crisis situations. The study integrates ecological, veterinary, technological, and sociological approaches, focusing on wildlife monitoring, health risks, human–wildlife conflicts, and public perception. The strategic plan provides evidence-based recommendations for preventive management, risk assessment, crisis response, and long-term coexistence between humans and wildlife in urban areas. This project, SS06020195: “Veterinary and sociological aspects of the occurrence of free-ranging wildlife in urban environments as a basis for their effective management and decision-making by public authorities,” was co-financed with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under the Environment for Life Programme and funded under the National Recovery Plan through the European Recovery and Resilience Facility.
