Poster: Single-TEE Solution for Offline Blockchain Transactions

In recent research, several approaches based on Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) for offline blockchain solutions have been proposed. These solutions leverage a two-TEE model which requires all involved devices to be equipped with a TEE, leading to increased overhead, and reduced flexibility in deployment. This paper introduces a novel “Single-TEE” solution to facilitate secure offline blockchain transactions. We propose a transaction mechanism that ensures integrity at the receiver-side by leveraging identity credentials and TEE verification, thereby eliminating the need for a receiver-side TEE. We detail the system architecture and the protocols for secure offline transactions.
