Flexible sheet actuator aimed at moving under human body load

This paper proposes an improved method for the Wavy-Sheet IV, a flexible sheet actuator for moving under load, such as a human body. This sheet actuator is operated by air pressure and is suitable for infiltration into confined environments. It also has superior propulsion performance under high loads compared to the actuator previously developed by our team. However, Wavy-sheet-IV has some problems, such as difficulty in maintaining velocity under soft objects and reduced velocity when the load is too large. Therefore, in this study, we propose an improvement of Wavy-Sheet IV to improve these problems and verify its effectiveness through experiments.
