Optimization of Valve Timing in the Miller Cycle for a Medium-Speed Diesel Engine

The approach proposed here is intended to ensure the required temperature for fuel self-ignition during compression in a diesel engine using the Miller cycle. Adjustment of the phase of fresh charge intake by regulating the intake valve drive is illustrated.
