Reframing Strategic Architecture: From Ansoff's Fundamental Strategic Vectors to the Evolution of Meta‐Strategy

ABSTRACT This paper presents an extended framework, building on the foundational components of strategic architecture of strategy and capability vectors as developed by H. Igor Ansoff. These extensions are grounded in field‐based applications and refinements undertaken over time. Building upon foundational elements of strategy architecture such as mission, goals, and market scope, the new strategy architecture framework incorporates ethical and ecological accountability, multiagent networks and more. By aligning strategic components with evolving industrial ecosystems, the strategy architecture supports a more reflexive, adaptive, and cocreative approach to strategic management. The framework also enables organizations to manage strategic variety, exploit emergent opportunities, and evolve their portfolio configurations in alignment with external transformations. This research contributes to the theoretical and practical advancement of strategic design under conditions of radical uncertainty and systemic interdependence.
