Compact Laser with Composite Ceramic YAG: Nd ³⁺ / YAG: Cr ⁴⁺ Element for LiDAR Applications

The results of experimental studies of compact laser oscillation with a composite ceramic YAG: Nd<sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3+</sup> / YAG: Cr<sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">4+</sup>element are presented. It was found that with an average pumping power of 0.5 W at a wavelength of 0.808 µm, the average single-mode oscillation power at a wavelength of 1.064 µm reaches 125 mW with a slope efficiency of 36.9 % and an overall efficiency of 30.2 %. The pulse energy was 18.8 µJ with a pulse duration of about 8 ns corresponding to a peak power of 2.5 kW. At maximum pumping power the divergence was less than 9 mrad.
