Procedure for Revising the Intercalibration Interval of Measuring Instruments

The practical application of the method of correction of the measuring instrument intercalibration interval, taking into account the relationship between the drift of its bias and expanded uncertainties at calibrations, is considered. A modification of this method is presented, consisting of two stages - verification of the metrological suitability of the measuring instrument and estimate of the drift of its bias, performed on the basis of the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$E_{n}$</tex> and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$Z$</tex> criteria. It is shown that instead of the expanded uncertainty of measurements from the calibration certificates of the measuring instrument, it is advisable to use its target uncertainty in the criteria. Examples of application of the proposed methodology for correcting the intercalibration interval of indicating measuring instruments and material measures by the proposed method are given.
