Verification of Core Loss Compensation in Switching the Control Mode for Induction Machines

This paper focuses on core loss compensation in switching the control mode considering load to reduce copper losses for induction machines. The no-load test is carried out under the condition of $V / f$ constant, and the core loss resistance at each operating point is calculated based on the experimental results. Also, the lookup table is created based on these results. Then, the configuration for switching the control mode including the core loss compensation table is explained. As an operating condition for switching the control mode, it operates as primary flux control in the light load region and operates as vector control in the heavy load region. The core loss compensation is applied in the heavy load region. As a result, simulations of steady state and transient characteristics are shown, and the core loss compensation in switching the control mode is verified.
