Broad-band & Large-scale Near-field Analysis of Terahertz Structures of High Complexity – Measurement vs. Simulation

This work addresses the challenges of analyzing highly complex terahertz (THz) devices. We directly compare experimental measurements with full-wave numerical simulations of a large, complex co-planar stripline structure, analyzing its time- and frequency-domain near-field behavior. The analysis reveals localized oscillations and propagating field modes, allowing for quantitative comparison between experimental and simulated data. By evaluating the computational effort required for comprehensive simulations, the work highlights the importance of a synergistic approach combining rigorous experimental characterization with sophisticated computational modeling to advance the rapidly evolving field of THz technology.
