Supplimetary videos and figures for the paper "The Effect of Thermo-Tidal Winds on the Expansion of Local and Regional Dust Storms on Mars" ( https://doi.org/10.1016/j.icarus.2026.116975 ). This includes animations from the MarsWRF simulations that were used to make Figure 1 of the paper, videos and a figure from a "billiard ball" version of MarsWRF used to assess importance of local circulations vs. thermal tides, and animations created from MARCI/EXI images. CONTENTS: MARCI/EXI: readme_MARCI_EXI.txt - readme file about the images in the movies movie_20220924_20221002.mp4 - MARCI/EXI movie in mp4 video format movie_20220924_20221002.gif - MARCI/EXI movie in mp4 video format MarsWRF: winds_zoomed.mov - MarsWRF winds in lowest ~600m over several sols, including the time in YYYY-DDDDD_HH:MM:SS format (hours, minutes, seconds being fractions of Mars sol (day)) - movie in .mov format, same zoom as Figure 1 winds_global.mov - same as "zoomed" but for whole globe and for several more sols (also https://youtu.be/ou6_-OoBOUM?si=2aNvpqM9bihmRTJ3 ) opacity_zoomed.mov - MarsWRF visible column optical depth over same period and for same area as winds.mov, same zoom as Figure 1 opacity_global.mov - same as "zoomed" but for whole globe and for several more sols (also https://youtu.be/M3EbZJDVyKY?si=P3X2Jo0bh4eZUzUh ) Flat Surface Cases: These output correspond to the same dust injection and season as the main output (above) but for a case where there is no topography (surface elevation is zero everywhere) and no variation of albedo (0.2039 everywhere except ice caps) and no thermal inertia variation (194.97 J m-1 k-1 s-0.5 everywhere). Figure1_flatsurf.png - same as Figure 1 in the paper except for this flat surface case opac_flat.mov - same as opacity_global.mov but for flat surface case (also https://youtu.be/K54PoIMT3jw?si=dWKoG_O0zavEqEuW ) winds_flat.mov - same as winds_global.mov but for flat surface case (also https://youtu.be/Nn6cw7IWcIA?si=q7L93uvN3tGK055a ) www.planetwrf.com
