66th ESReDA Seminar Proceeding - Transformative safety and resilience models in a smart digital and sustainable world

These proceedings are the outcome of the 66th ESReDa Seminar hosted by University of Salento, in Lecce from 22nd to 23rd May 2025. The main target of the seminar was to point out what is the current contribution of digital technologies for supporting transformative safety design and management processes in several operational domains. The seminar has outlined that digitalization is characterized by a transformative capability mainly oriented to improve operational performance, reduce accidents and increase system reactiveness through several ways. However, new emerging risks, e.g. due to the massive use of intelligent robotics systems interacting directly with humans (like collaborative robots), to the use of decision support systems (e.g. based on algorithmic management) that provide automatic feedback to humans, e.g. workers as well as safety managers and/or analysts, must be also evaluated through innovative models. This seminar has involved different stakeholders, from researchers to industry and national institution experts, interested in discussing about innovative models, case studies and legislation analysis about different safety domains from process to manufacturing and service industries. The proceedings include 3 plenary speeches, 1 industry talk, 1 special session, and 16 full papers or extended abstracts and the results of the interactive section that was performed during the first day of the seminar.
